Maybe someone out there can help me with a question I have about filters.

Under FAQ Question #102: "Managing Your Custom Friends Groups," we're told how to filter our Friends page. That is, we're told how to:

• [make a] New Group
  
• Edit Members
  
• Change Order
  
• Rename Groups
  
• Change Security
  
• Delete Group

I spent about a half-hour on a lengthy post about conversation and self-consciousness. It related to my previous post with a poll in it. I just tried to post it, but received these weird error messages (something about the time on my post being incorrect). When I went back to fix it, my post was gone! ... and for the life of me, I don't know which one!

You know, my community synchronous has been up since the beginning of November (not very long). But what I'm wondering is how I go about promoting it. It wasn't listed in the last two Live Journal Community News listings for new communities. Is there something I need to do? If so, I'd be very interested to know what that is.

I want to start a new community. I've been going all through the FAQs as well as Live Journal Help, and it seems so easy to create a community. Yet the procedure makes no sense to me. It couldn't be that difficult.

As I said in my bio, I'm not quite sure why I decided to sign up for LiveJournal, since I'm such a private person. However, I know why the idea was attractive to me. It's because LiveJournal seems to be a community, and community is what I long for. Besides, I get to decide what I want to share. Man, that's empowering ( Read more... )
